David arrived at Garden Village after repeated falls and severe left knee pain, unable to safely return home and dependent on a mechanical lift for all transfers and assistance with all activities of daily living.
Through months of dedicated Physical and Occupational Therapy, he steadily progressed from standing with assistance to independently managing self-care, performing transfers, walking more than 150 feet with a front-wheeled walker, and navigating stairs with supervision. His determination and positive attitude inspired everyone around him, and after more than a year in long-term care, he is preparing to return to the community and enjoy one of his greatest passions–playing his trumpet. As David shared, “The therapy team is great. They really care… They helped me mentally just as much as they did physically.”
